Members of the Humboldt Builders Exchange Women in Construction Committee gathered last Saturday at the Redwood Gun Club for a hands-on Shooting Safety Seminar focused on responsible firearm handling, situational awareness, and personal safety.
The event brought together women from across the local construction and business community for an afternoon of learning in a supportive and welcoming environment. Participants received instruction on firearm safety fundamentals, including proper handling, safe storage, and range etiquette. Experienced instructors guided attendees through the basics before participants had the opportunity to practice on the range.
Committee Chair Lori DeVoist of Pierson Co. helped coordinate the event, which emphasized confidence, education, and camaraderie among women working in and around the construction industry.
Beyond the technical instruction, the seminar provided a great opportunity for networking and connection. Events like this continue to strengthen the Women in Construction program by creating spaces where members can learn new skills, support one another, and build lasting professional relationships.
The Humboldt Builders Exchange extends its thanks to the instructors and staff at the Redwood Gun Club for hosting the seminar and providing a safe, educational experience for our members.
Women in Construction events are designed to support professional growth, leadership, and connection within the trades community. Keep an eye on upcoming bulletins for future WIC gatherings and opportunities to get involved.
