In September 2025, the Humboldt Builders Exchange hosted its annual Scholarship Benefit Golf Tournament, bringing members, sponsors, and friends of the construction community together for a day on the course in support of local students. The event reflected one of HBE’s core missions: strengthening the future of Humboldt County’s workforce by helping young people enter the trades.
Every cent raised through registration, sponsorships, raffles, and donations goes directly to HBE’s scholarship fund. Thanks to the generosity of our members, sponsors, and board, the 2025 tournament helped launch four students into the programs of their choice — including engineering, welding, construction management, and related career pathways. These scholarships continue to open doors for Humboldt County youth at a time when skilled trades are more essential than ever.
The tournament also delivered its share of memorable moments. HBE Board Member — and Kramer Investment Co. representative — Travis Green channeled his inner Happy Gilmore with a long-drive sprint down the fairway, earning cheers from teammates and spectators alike. Fun and camaraderie are a big part of this tradition, and the 2025 event was no exception.
Events like the Scholarship Benefit Golf Tournament highlight what makes the Builders Exchange unique: the trades community showing up not just for projects and partnerships, but for the next generation of builders who will shape Humboldt’s future.
