Commercial estimating is high-stakes, repetitive, and time-consuming. This exclusive, hands-on workshop from Humboldt Builders Exchange and Grounded AI will show commercial contractors how to make AI a practical tool for their own estimating process.
Participants will work through three construction-specific workflows:
Learn how to use AI to locate requirements, summarize relevant sections, identify scope questions, and create review checklists. You’ll also learn how to cite source material and verify results against the original plans and specifications.
Practice organizing subcontractor and supplier quotes, comparing inputs, identifying exclusions and clarifications, and flagging possible scope gaps for human review.
Use AI as a structured second pass to look for missing cost categories, inconsistent assumptions, and unclear inclusions or exclusions. Then learn how to turn approved estimate notes into a professional proposal outline.
The workshop also covers useful AI habits, responsible data practices, common failure points, and the importance of qualified human review. Participants will receive guided demonstrations, hands-on exercises, reusable prompts, checklists, and reference materials they can continue using after the workshop.
No technical background is required. Participants should bring a laptop and complete the provided setup instructions before attending.
